"Connecting the Community to the Court System" is the theme of the 34th annual Senior Law Day, to be held Monday, May 2 at Central Library.

Judge Dorothy Clarke, Del. Patrick Hope (D-47th) and Clerk of the Circuit Court Paul Ferguson will be among the speakers at the event, which will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

"The purpose of this year's Law Day is to assist seniors in understanding the legal system in Arlington, and to make available resource people to discuss legal issues that affect everyone," said Jessica Vasquez, community-outreach supervisor for the county government's Office of Senior Adult Program, which is helping to sponsor the event.

Also participating at the event will be the Arlington Bar Association, Legal Services of Northern Virginia, Virginia Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney, Arlington Area Agency on Aging, Sheriff's Department and Commission on Long-Term-Care Residences.

The program is free. For information, call (703) 228-0948.
