Arlington's four members of the House of Delegates each garnered perfect grades for the 2012 legislative session from the Virginia Education Association. But the county's three senators scored lower in the group's annual legislative report card.

Dels. Patrick Hope (D-47th), Bob Brink (D-48th), David Englin (D-45th) and Alfonso Lopez (D-49th) all voted with the VEA's position on seven pieces of legislation the teachers' association targeted in the 2012 session.

Bills included in the ranking involved topics ranging from teacher evaluations and contracts, to retirement funding, to who decides when local school districts can start the school year.

"It's an honor to be recognized," Hope said in a statement. "Nothing is more important than adequately funding Virginia's public schools."

On the Senate side, Sen. Barbara Favola (D-31st) garnered an 80-percent rating from the organization, while Sen. Adam Ebbin (D-30th) scored 60 percent and Sen. Janet Howell (D-32nd) scored 57 percent.

The complete scorecard can be found on the Web site at www.veanea.org.
