Del. Patrick Hope (D-47th) recently received the “Collaborations Leadership Award” from the Virginia Rehabilitation Association, the Virginia Association of Community Rehabilitation Programs and the Virginia Association of Persons in Supported Employment.

Hope was honored for his “tireless efforts and staunch support of Virginians with disabilities,” the organizations said in a statement.

“Patrick is a true advocate for Virginians with disabilities and a rising star in the disability field,” said Karen Tefelski, executive director of the Virginia Association of Community Rehabilitation Programs.

“He never misses an opportunity to stand up and speak to his legislative colleagues and others about how Virginia’s most vulnerable populations need to be protected from budget cuts, empowered and involved in the services planning, and have a choice with where they want to live and where they want to work,” Tefelski said.

Hope becomes the 23rd recipient of the award.
